Mission News Update February 2011
Dear Praying Friends and Faithful Partners,
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish
but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."
John 3:16, 17
John 3:16 is a very familiar verse. Memorized by children and often quoted by adults. In these verses,
Jesus encapsulates a simple message and yet it encompasses God's great love for each one of us without exception.
In Him there is life, and in His never ending love, there is no condemnation, and no separation (Romans 8).
How wonderful to know and understand His love! Jeremiah 31:3 says: "I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore I have drawn you with loving kindness." Please pray for us that we may be able to share this message of love
to all who we minister through our PMF churches, radio, community outreaches, medical services, Orphanage, Sea Haven
ship and aviation services. Most especially they will see that we don't love only in words but in action.
Pray for understanding that being a Christian is not a destination, but a journey in becoming more like Christ,
that God desires for all of us to grow in love and to be actively serving Him.
GUAM
We began our Kids/Youth Club second week of January. Every Friday, we pick up children, and some come with
their parents. We have been learning about the Bible, God's Word. It is such a blessing to listen to the children
as they share the verses they memorize, as they sing songs about obedience and God's reality. An added bonus is when
their parents join them. At the end of the activity, they share with us that they have learned something new and desire
to learn more with their children. Pray as the children learn Bible lessons and verses, songs and do seat work and
craft - as well as for their parents that they will grow in Christ likeness.
PHILIPPINES
The Jomalig Multi- Purpose Center Project is still ongoing. Despite heavy downpour almost everyday,
workers and PMA staff continue working. What is now needed is for the bathroom and toilets to be constructed and the
painting of the whole building. The heavy rains have hindered the workers from digging for the septic tank. The workers
have completed the concrete slabs for the bathroom and toilets and will return to the island after 14 days. Please pray
for good weather to complete this project, as well as for provisions.
BAHAY KALINGA ORPHANAGE, MINDORO, PHILIPPINES
The mother of twins who are with us for temporary shelter gave birth to
a baby girl. She thought that this time, the father would be able to provide for her and her baby.
But she was greatly disappointed. She was abandoned yet again. She has now given this baby girl to us for care
and needs to make a decision if she should surrender her child for adoption. Please pray that she would make the
right decision for the good and welfare of her children.
PALAU
We praise God for taking care of Pastor Bambit's health. He is doing fine and did not need any surgery.
Slowly but surely he is getting back to normal. He praises God for providing all his needs and for his family's
as well. He visited PMF Palau members who were in the Philippines for medical attention, prayed and encouraged them.
He assisted his brother at their J-Jireh School and J-Jireh Gospel church, speaking to teachers and preaching at
the church. Romeena, his first born was given opportunities to serve in churches wherever they went.
They also cherished time with families in Zamboanga City and General Santos. They were supposed to leave for Palau Feb. 4,
but their daughter Berneace was bitten by a dog. She is undergoing anti rabies vaccinations, which will be completed by March 2.
They return to Palau March 4. Continue praying for them as a family - for God's protection, provision and good health for everyone.
YAP, MICRONESIA
"Several months ago we medivaced Victor from Ulithi to Yap. He had some serious medical problems.
In better days, he was an avid fisherman and we remember flying an extensive sea search trying to find him. As it turned out,
the engine of his boat had quit and he was 'just relaxing' on a remote uninhabited island, waiting for someone to find him.
Victor had terminal throat cancer and wished to be flown home to Ulithi. His wife, Veronica, always by his side is a believer.
We visited him often at the Yap Hospital and shared the Gospel, encouragement and prayer. On a stretcher before his flight back
to Ulithi, Victor assured us he believed in Jesus. Three days later, we were informed he went home to be with the
Lord - to his real home." Peter and Esther Reichert, Missionaries
We thank God for opportunities open to our missionaries to share the Word of God through Hospital visitation.
Praise God for souls that are saved, and believers that are encouraged and helped. Pray that our Mission staff may
be a blessing and that they would not grow weary in well doing.
POHNPEI, MICRONESIA
Three Galcom engineers came to Pohnpei for 2 weeks to set up the 211 foot loop antennae, 35 ft.
above the ground, so that "The Cross Radio" could be heard on Short wave in our target outer islands of Micronesia.
In addition, they set up repeater sites in 2 locations on the island of Pohnpei to improve the FM transmission over
the whole island. The Cross Radio continues to be a great blessing of quality teaching and inspirational music heard
24/7 on the island of Pohnpei. Pray for continued strong transmission and arrival of parts still needed. By Sylvia Kalau, Missionary
We praise God for allowing and enabling us to serve His people in remote islands of Micronesia and the Philippines.
As the Good News of the Gospel is presented, as we see lives being transformed and as we see joy and peace replacing
hopelessness and anxiety, we know that He has made a difference, and you dear Partners have empowered us to do this
with God's grace and strength. Thank you for giving to the Lord. One day you will meet the lives you have changed.
Until then, keep on doing good for at the proper time, He will reward you. God bless!
In Him we live and move and have our being,
