Founder and and first President of Pacific Missionary Aviation. Born and raised in East Prussia, bordering Lithuania. At age 10 he was indoctrinated to join the Hitler Youth and by age 14, he was commissioned into the Hitler Flying Corps under the Hitler Youth Leadership. After the war, when Germany was in shambles, his mother's prayer for 20 years was answered. He became a Christian. In 1950, he entered a Seminary in Germany, after four years of training was chosen to be sent to Micronesia, a former German colony. Before leaving for the mission field, he married Elizabeth Gruenewald, the grand daughter of the Mission's founder. Together they set sail for Palau. They arrived in 1956. They served three years in Palau, and later transferred to Yap island, Federated States of Micronesia. He was led to establish Pacific Missionary Aviation (PMA) in 1975 and served as President until 1999. With the same vision and mission, PMA Philippines was established and incorporated in the Philippines in 1982 - formerly known as Flying Medical Samaritans.
