Seaweed farming was the answer and escape from illegal fishing that Jun Mandreza had been asking the Lord to provide for him. Jun had received a good income by using cyanide to catch large numbers of fish for the aquarium business. After accepting the Lord Jesus Christ into his life, Jun wanted to live honorably and with integrity. The PMA outreach team taught him seaweed farming, which provided income for his family.
After being discipled, by a PMF Pastor, Jun and Baby started serving with PMA at the PMF Church in Jomalig in May 2007. While serving, PMA sent Jun to study in a Bible training course, meeting in Manila one week a month for three years. It was a challenge for Jun and Baby. With a small church and no assistant to help in the ministry, little by little, the Lord started to grow the church. Jun shares: “My wife and I went through tough trials and “growing pains” as we served the Lord, but we experienced God’s presence each day and He always provided for our needs. It is a joy serving Him! Before I was fishing for my family, now I am fishing for the souls of men.”
